The Innovation Research Center for Bio-future Technology (B-IRC) is dedicated to developing breakthrough core technologies for next-generation cell and gene therapies with biomembrane engineering. To overcome current limitations in cell and gene therapy, we are developing biomembrane and organelle engineering technologies, ex vivo membrane delivery systems, and in vivo membrane delivery technologies. These advances will enable us to establish pipelines for novel cell and gene therapies targeting immune disorders, cancer, and central nervous system diseases, while also developing and providing advanced enabling technologies.

** The Innovation Research Center (IRC) program was established in 2023 by the Ministry of Science and ICT to create world-class research hubs in national strategic technology sectors. POSTECH was selected as the sole center in advanced biotechnology (cell and gene therapy) and will receive support for 10 years through 2033.
